In the most recent edition of Science magazine, American specialists from the Program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine and the Immune Disease Institute at Children’s Hospital Boston presented their new development. A new herbal remedy based on the extract of hydrangea root was created to treat so called autoimmune disorders, including type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, bowel disorders, psoriasis, eczema and multiple sclerosis. The study was carried out in collaboration with the experts from the Harvard Medical School and Immune Disease Institute and directed on learning more about the role of Th 17, a white blood cell involved in autoimmune disease.
