Natural astringents are nothing else but natural toners which can be used by everyone to remove extra fat and tone the skin. The earliest known natural solution for skin renewal and toning is washing the face with icy cold water or massaging your skin with some ice cubes. This excellent and very refreshing procedure is usually done after cleansing your skin. However, if you’re afraid of catching a cold, it is better refrain from this type of treatment.
Instead, you can use a variety of natural astringents for skin toning. Check out the list below and choose those natural solutions which suit you the best.
- Cucumber. This effective natural astringent is beneficial for any type of skin and is easily available year round. Use a slice of cucumber or cucumber juice for your skin treatment
- Tomato juice. It is another great natural astringent which can be used for oily or combined types of skin. Take pulps of two tomatoes and crush them. Use the extracted juice as a mask (it can be kept for 20-30) minutes, or just apply the juice to your face and neck.
- Peach juice. The best way to use this natural astringent is to rub your face with slices of fresh peach. Or, you can mash some peach pulp and place it to your face. Keep for 15-20 minutes and then wash off with cold water. This natural treatment will make your skin cleaner, firmer and toned.
- Aloe Vera. Fresh juice of Aloe Vera is an excellent astringent which also helps to disinfect and heal little wounds on your skin. Remember to use only fresh Aloe Vera juice or gel.
- Rose water. It is a very soft and gentle natural astringent which can be applied even to the most sensitive skin.
Lime or lemon juice. Contrary to rose water, these natural astringents for skin are quite strong. Therefore, it is recommended to test those on your skin first, or use a mixture of water and lime or lemon juice. It is possible to use lemon essential oil as well.
