Maple syrup is one of the most popular and unique products of Canada. Have you ever tried it? I’ll tell you: it’s delicious, useful, rich in manganese and very good for our health! It is well-known throughout the world, and recently it became a point of interest of scientists from the Far East. A group of Japanese experts from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences discovered that maple syrup can be used by everyone of us as a great remedy and natural solution to improve liver health. Certainly, in case if 100% organic and high quality product is consumed in moderate amounts on a regular basis.
Leaded by Dr. Keiko Abe, the Japanese trials involved studying the effects of maple syrup on liver function of rats. After receiving specified doses of pure high quality syrup, a group of rats started demonstrating very much improved liver function compared to the one of other control group which, in turn, was given another type of therapy: without the benefits of maple syrup. At that, maple syrup was used in the lab rats’ diet to substitute carbohydrates. The study was sponsored by organizations like Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers.
It is expected that the findings will shortly be presented in the US scientific circles and published in the coming issue of Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry magazine. Maple syrup is very highly valued by all health care specialists and nutritionists around the world for its numerous benefits. This natural product contains a great deal of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, and some experts are certain that using high quality 100 per cent organic maple syrup as a sweetener can be even a better choice than using honey.
It is expected that the findings of this study will find a great reaction and response of general public. According to the Canadian Liver Foundation, currently a great number of people including children are experiencing some liver health problems to one or another extent. It is supposed that 10 percent of today’s Canadians suffer from liver problems. Most of the patients with liver-related health conditions are aged people, especially the ones with abnormal levels of blood lipids, extra weight, or diabetes. Using organic maple syrup to improve liver health is now a scientifically proven great and effective solution recommended by world’s leading scientists.
