We all know so well that increased calorie intake causes overweight. Therefore, what usually matters is not how much you eat, but how much of high calorie foods you eat. In order to help those people who have problems with effective weight management, a group of Israeli and Russian nutritionists created a list of low calorie foods. These foods are nutritious, healthy, economic and available for everyone.
1. Soups. Soups are very nutritious and very delicious foods, but the main advantage of soups is being a low calorie food. Usually, 1 portion of soup has no more than 150 calories, therefore you can freely go for 2 or ever 3 servings. Soups are extremely useful, can be easily digested and can improve the function of our digestive system. Besides, soups can warm us up very fast, and this is important in winter, I guess.
2. Sauerkraut. This food has all the reasons to be included to the list of low calorie foods, because it has numerous health benefits and a high nutrition value. It is a source of iron, sodium, dietary fiber, vitamins B and C, and useful bacteria. 100 g of sauerkraut has only 19 kcal, and this food is very useful for digestion, has excellent anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, can protect against respiratory diseases and headaches, cleanses up liver and so on.
3. Carrots. 100 g of carrots have only 33 kcal, and this food is rich in very valuable beta carotene which boosts the function of our immune system and has great anti-bacterial action. Remember that boiled carrots lose up to 60% of their nutritional value, therefore it is better to eat fresh carrots. Also, do not forget that for better digestion of beta carotene nutritionists recommend eating a bit of butter.
4. Yogurt. A low-fat yogurt is the best option when you want just to have a little bite. A cup of low fat yogurt has only 130 calories, and yogurts are good sources of useful lactobacteria, which can improve our digestion, stimulate metabolism and help to lower risks of infections and colds. You can eat low fat yogurts every day, but remember that daily recommended dose of yogurt should not exceed 200 g.
5. Oranges and tangerines. These fruit are definitely the kings of this list of low calorie foods! One tangerine has only 40 kcal, and one orange or grapefruit has 70-80 kcal. These fruit are rich in vitamins A, C and E, selenium, zinc and many other useful elements and nutrients. Health benefits of oranges include anti-aging effects and lowering the risks of infections. In turn, grapefruit can speed up weight reduction and improve the function of urogenital system.
6. Dried fruit. 30-50 g dried fruit a day is a great and extremely healthy snack for everyone. Dried fruit are very rich in vitamins. For example, date palm fruits are perfect sources of Vitamin B5 which stimulated fat metabolism, improves productivity and helps focusing. Dried plums assists in fighting against the effects of stresses. Figs can improve digestion and lower the risks of cancer. Dried apricot has excellent cleansing properties. Also, it is important that dried fruits are sweet but at the same time, they do not cause any weight gain.
