I have an arrhythmia coupled with on and off atrial fibrillation. The A-Fib causes my heart to slow down instead of speed up. I also have 5 thyroid nodules.
Over the last few years, after being on medication and then stopping it, through much research and trial and error, I have found there are other things that have helped me besides what's been mentioned. Sometimes, I can't always tell right away which remedy will help but given enough time and 'listening' to my body I will figure it out.
These are things that have aided me in regulating my heartbeat:
*Kelp powder (for the thyroid - stay away from Pacific source now because of the radiation fall out);
*Enzymes (specifically - W-EZymes Xtra 10x) at least one dose a day taken on an empty stomach and then at meals if desired;
*Green Juice (not the fruity one - the real green juice or better yet make your own with preferably organic leafy greens, parsley, carrots, broccoli, and a very small amount of pineapple or apple for taste if need be. A piece of fresh ginger is good too. Or try adding some fresh garlic and / or a chili pepper if not adding any fruit for flavor. You can use other veggies but the leafy greens and parsley are priority. I will also add a tablespoon or two of raw organic unrefined coconut oil. There's so many ways to make a heart healthy juice that may very well put your heart back in rhythm. It works for me.
Occasionally, I'll drink a low sodium veggie juice that has a lot of tomatoes in it.
I have found that if I do not ingest enough salt my heart will get out of rhythm, also.
It can be a chore trying to find the right balance but well worth it when finally accomplished.

Hi - I suffer from a very fast heartbeat. I've had all the tests which have all been clear. I'm keen to take some herbal remedy to try and slow down my heart rate slightly - is there anything you recommend? Thanks

Dear Marta,

Thank you for reading my blog, I am very glad that my articles can give people a clue where to look for help and relief. As I always say, you should consult your father's doctor or therapist about his particular situation. With such problem as arrhythmia, it is very important to know everything about individual specifics. I hope you'll manage to find an effective remedy to alleviate his situation.

Take care of yourself and your dad.

Hi thanks for making this available. My father has brachardial arrythmia (heart beating <50). He was recommended pacemaker. However, I am hoping there might be other treatment or cure for this, especially natural home remedies/ herbs, etc. Are the ones you mentioned good for my father's type of slow heart beat? Will those work for him? Arrythmia, there are two kinds one, my father's type and the other is Trachardia which the heart beats faster. Therefore it is important to know which herbs are the right ones to work against slower heart beat. Need to be very cautious not to take herbs that might even slow the heart beat.

Awaiting your answer anxiously.

Blessings,

Carla, hi , For the month of Dec I have been stressed out with work, not getting enough sleep, and dealing with my teenage daughter. I am a single parent. I also do not eat right. A week ago I started having palpitaions especially when I lay down to sleep. Went to the doctor and he took an ekg and said I was having apc's off the charts. He prescribed propranolol and recommended I see a cardiologist. The pills have not stopped the palpitations. Can I take something naturally to help with the apc's?
thank you,
Carlos Enrique
