New Year's PartyIt is traditional for many families, as well as for many companies and business organizations to arrange special New Year’s Eve Parties, with various meals and drinks, dance and fireworks. Most people love and enjoy such parties, however sometimes we do not feel good either during the party, or after the party due to improper eating or drinking too much of alcohol. German specialists created a list of recommendations for those who is going to spend the New Year’s night partying and eating with friends or family. These tips will help you not to devastate yourself and enjoy your New Year’s Party full volume.

1. Do not make a mistake of keeping yourself hungry all day long before the party. Do not sit at the New Year’s Table on an empty stomach, this can cause heaviness and certain problems with digestion right during the party. Instead, eat a light vegetable or fruit salad 40-50 minutes before the party, and have a glass of warm green tea. This will help your stomach to set up for some work, as well as to lower possible negative effects of the first shots of alcoholic drinks consumed at the table.

Happy New Year 2. Be careful with what you are eating. Traditionally, our New Year’s tables are filled with lots of delicious dishes, but many of them are quite fatty, caloric and heavy for our stomachs. Therefore, if you choose to eat heavy fatty foods, do not forget to eat a good amount of veggies in order to make it easier for your stomach to digest that everything. Besides, if it is possible, try to avoid eating the foods you do not know or have never eaten before.

3. Be very careful about your alcohol consumption. Do not mix any alcoholic drinks cos’ the effects can be horrible. Also, remember that it is always better to start your party with having some light alcoholic drinks (beer or champagne), and only after filling your stomach up, you can come to heavier drinks, like vodka or whiskey. Finally, avoid mixing alcoholic drinks with carbonated beverages: this way intoxication will occur immediately and you will hardly remember anything about the party.

4. Avoid sitting at the New Year’s table all the party long. Dance, play some games with your fiends, go out to take some air and enjoy some outdoor activities. Also, be very careful with the fireworks if you are going to use those.

5. Finally, if you’ve happened to feel heavy and not good during the party (due to overeating or drinking a little too much alcohol), just find a calm place in the house and lay down for a while. You can calm down your stomach by drinking 100 ml of warm water mixed with 5-10 drops of high quality peppermint oil. You can relieve alcohol over-consumption effects by drinking 150 ml of tomato juice.

Wishing you to have a great New Year’s party, as well as the best of health, success and happiness in 2010 and beyond!
