I started eating two tablespoons of ground flaxseed most days of the week at the beginning of the year as well as taking one triple omega pill with flax oil every day. I suspect now that I'm allergic to flax. At my annual physical last week, my eosinophil count was through the roof. My doctor told me to cut out anything I had started over the past year for three months, when follow-up bloodwork would be done. I cut out the new supplements I'd begun as well as the ground flaxseed. In a few days, I started to feel really good. However, when I ate some toast with Smart Balance buttery spread, I started to feel uneasy. Could consuming this much flax bring on the allergy? From what I've read about flax, two tablespoons a day was a reasonable dosage, although with the flax oil in the capsule, it may have been too much? Still, one of those a day was conservative considering the bottle said that up to three a day could be taken. It would be nice to have more information on this!

I am interested in how overeating (especially carbohydrates) can cause headaches. Cutting carbs reduces my headaches, but then I start getting symptoms of gout. I am slightly hypoglycemic. In a recent glucose tolerance test, my fasting level was 93 (somewhat high) and went higher for the first hour, but then lower, down to 69.

Please advise.
