Recently, I had a great chance to speak to Prof. Doctor Bingyr Sonmez, a specialist doctor experienced in cardiovascular diseases and differential diagnostics, as well as a famous anti-tobacco enthusiast, who worked here in the UK in St. Thomas Hospital and recently visited our hospital on a special occasion. He shared a lot of very interesting pieces of information and ideas with me, but what impressed me the most was his viewpoint on the benefits of eating eggs.

EggsDr. Sonmez says that for more than 40 years most of the doctors were very strictly recommending all of us to avoid consuming eggs every day. They did that with their full belief in the fact that what they are saying is very true and scientifically proven. Actually, for the last 40 years there were some individuals fro the world of science telling us: egg is actually not that bad for heart and egg actually does not have much cholesterol. Some scientists were saying that relying rather on their intuition than on some scientific studies.

In the 90s there were serious researches indicating that egg has minimal or almost no effect on rising cholesterol levels. So say the findings of a group of scientists from Department of Neurology and Neurosciences, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ, published in 1997 in the journal Medical Science Monitor. The doctors and other health care specialists were quite aware of the fact that eggs do not bring us harm, and by the late 90s they have started suggesting their patients consuming eggs, even on a daily basis. Now, egg is suggested as a powerful natural remedy to protect from the Alzheimer’s disease, that is why the elderly should actually eat an egg a day to harvest these amazing benefits of eggs.

Health Benefits Of Eating EggsUndoubtedly, chicken egg is a very useful food and there are lots of benefits of eating eggs on a regular basis. Eggs can play a role of a great natural protection and prevent breast cancer, provide our body with a number of essential nutrients including vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin D, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, and iron. It slows down aging processes in our body. If we manage to divert people from the wrong understanding about egg as doctors, we will be serving for public safety much better.

Egg fulfills our body’s protein needs and keeps a person full for long period of time. It also can correct hear arrhythmia, rise good cholesterol (HDL). There are certain amounts of bad cholesterol in eggs, but it is a really not too harmful to us to consume egg yolk since consuming this type of cholesterol does not actually lead to a considerable increase in our blood cholesterol. If eggs could be enriched with omega 3 acid, they would be extremely useful for people. Enriched eggs are good, but normal are also very valuable. For a normal egg  without no other food , a little bit warmth and humidity adjustment a normal chicken can come out, that indicates incomparable nutrition value of this food. This can make us see the importance of this food a a nutrient packed natural food.
