Gases, flatulence and meteorism (known in medical circles also as tympanites) are very common health conditions which we all suffer from quite regularly. They catch us in our babyhood, and follow for the most of our life. We all know that process of food digestion is connected with releasing certain gases (hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide and others), and abnormal conditions like meteorism and flatulence are linked to accumulation of such gases in our digestive system. These health conditions cause a lot of discomfort or abdominal pains, and also they can be a reason of more serious digestive disorders.
British nutritionists listed 5 most common causing factors, or better to say groups of causes of meteorism and flatulence.
1. The specifics of the diet. Consuming the foods rich in fiber or certain polysaccharides is one of the most common reasons why we suffer from bloating and flatulence. If you regularly add to your diet such foods as beans, cabbage, radishes, leeks, sweet potatoes, wheat, oats, cashews, garlic, onions, some dairy products, etc., your chances to suffer from the mentioned health conditions are elevated. Besides, overeating or consuming too heavy meals are also among the most common causes of flatulence and meteorism.
2. The condition known as aerophagia. In other words, the habit of swallowing too much air when eating meals or drinking. Aerophagia is also very often linked to chewing gums, that is why those who suffer from meteorism and flatulence should avoid using chewing gums too often.
3. Some disorders or irregularities in the function of digestive system. Those can include bowel obstruction, bacterial invasions, infections, inflammations, functional disorders, renal stones, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, and so on.
4. Taking certain medications. Gas accumulation is a very common side effect of using some medications and drugs. Also, taking antibiotics is usually connected with increasing of the symptoms of flatulence and meteorism, because balanced environment of digestive tract is always affected to a great extent by these type of medications.
5. Stresses. It is believed that stresses also play a role in increased swallowing of air, as well as causing numerous general and local imbalances in the function of all our body organs.
These are the 5 main causes of flatulence and meteorism. Despite the fact that health conditions like these are quite common and are usually not linked to too much of trouble, it is necessary to keep the situation under control and visit your health care specialist as soon as you notice that the symptoms of the mentioned disorders started increasing or bringing you more and more discomfort.

I believe in using herbs for your minor problems. Using drugs can lead to side effects and more problems. Herbal remedies are 100% safe taken as directed on the label. There are no side effects and are non-habit forming. Diet and exercise is very important, which is the natural way to stay healthy. When you need help with that, use herbal remedies.

I guess this everything fully depends on what we eat. Maybe medicines we take also play a role, but for all of us eating beans, peas, cauliflower, cabbage and the foods like that eventually ends up in the stated problem. Watch what you are eating – this is the recipe I guess.
