Great SkinHaving flawless skin is a desire of many, but it’s no easy feat to achieve. While some are naturally blessed with radiant skin, others face a problems ranging from scars and wrinkles to acne and blemishes. According to American Academy of Dermatology, one of the disorders affects around 40 to 50 million Americans each year.

When facing skin problems, you may not have to visit a skin care professional every time as there are effective treatments that can be performed right from the comfort of your home.

Some at-home skin treatments for 2013 include:

Waxing Kits

Waxing your skin is an important step in skincare as it removes all excess hairs and makes the skin appear smooth and cuddly. There are several home waxing kit options that are convenient and easy to use. Moreover, they don’t irritate the skin and result in soft hair regrowth.

Most of them come with instructions that are easy to follow through. The kits also include items such as specific area packs for different skin types. Also, it is important that you choose the right kit for the purpose of skin care (a water soluble wax kit would be more appropriate than a regular wax kit).

Clarisonic

The Clarisonic is an electronic device that helps keep your akin clean. It is shaped like a hair brush and has soft bristles at one end onto which you apply an everyday cleanser and then turn it on.

Great Skin HealthOnce toggled on, you can lightly apply it on the skin in rotating movement. This treatment is much more abrasive for cleaning the skin than bare fingers. However, there’s no need to stress over abrasiveness as it only implies thorough cleaning, and doesn’t have negative effects on acne or sensitive skin.

Oil Cleansing Method

The oil cleansing method is quite a simple yet effective means to get a glowing complexion. The commonly used oils are olive oil and castor oil, but any other natural oil can be used as well. However, any of them shouldn’t be use undiluted.

Once you have found the right kind of oil, all you need to do is massage on your face. Then take a small towel or a muslin cloth and dip it into steaming hot water, drench it and then place it on your face. You might have to repeat the last steps (steaming, drenching and placement) a couple of times in order to see the results. Don’t stress if you see breakouts because they are normal when impurities leave the skin. Avoiding the use of facial cleaners and soaps would also streamline the process of skin cleansing.

PMD (Personal Micro Dermabrasion)

The PMD is much more of an intense approach to skincare. The device that will be used in this case is like an electronic tooth brush in shape, but features a rounded top.

You have to use it carefully by stretching every pit of your facial skin one by one and then passing the PMD over it. This treatment can remove wrinkles from your skin when applied properly.

Apart from these at-home treatments, eating right and maintaining a healthy workout routine will ensure that your skin stays vibrant and in good health over the long term.
