fruits and veggiesIn our times, when the foods are overfilled with pesticides and other chemicals, the saying ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away‘ has almost lost its meaning. It is valid only for the situation if the apple is 100% organic. The same can be said about other fruits and veggies, and we can enjoy their numerous health benefits only in case if these natural foods are not coated in pesticides.

The experts from the Environmental Working Group found out that there are 12 very common veggies and fruits which are especially contaminated by chemicals. Along with that, the list of 15 common most clean natural foods was created, which includes only the fruits and veggies lowest in pesticides. The specialists carried out a series of tests and researches based on food samples and info by the United States Departure of Agriculture.

The findings were very worrying and disappointing, because it became apparent that the list of 12 dirtiest natural foods is filled up with the fruits and veggies we eat every day and in great amounts. As we can see, it is vital to go organic when it comes to such foods as apples, peaches, strawberries, grapes and so on.  “Picking five servings of fruits and vegetables from the 12 most contaminated would cause you to consume an average of 14 different pesticides a day,” specialists underline in their report.
